  • A secret gem of Golden Gate Park is the Garden of Shakespeares Flowers, located near the Japanese Tea Garden. Inspired by the masterworks of the famous playwright, the garden has over 200 flowers.

  • Huge Ginormously Beautiful Park. So much to do, to see - botanical gardens, dog parks, museums, gardens, bison, lovely cruising ride to the ocean, or anywhere in the city, esp on a Sunday - no cars.
  • Amex Travel tip: visit the Conservatory of Flowers to see the worlds largest collection of orchids (700+ species). The first Tuesday of every month is free!
  • Rent a boat and paddle to the top of the island in the middle of Stow lake, a popular spot for couples to picnic. #vday
  • It's got its faults and some sketchy characters, but it's THE park of SF, period. It's got it all: stadium, conservatory, and some of the finest patches of grass on which to trip your balls off.

  • On Sundays, the streets in the park are closed to traffic. It's a great place to ride a bike, walk, relax outside of the conservatory of flowers, or listen to live concerts at the music concourse.
  • Incredibly well kept park, especially in view of San Francisco's often shabby public cleaning standards. A lovely park to take in some culture or go for a long stroll or bike ride.
  • A must-visit not only for its Herzog & de Meurondesigned de Young Museum but also for lesser-known gems such as the Victorian-era Conservatory of Flowers and a paddock for rare American bison.
  • Prepare to be disappointed. Looks absolutely nothing like the bridge.
  • Take the kids on an evening haunted tour of Stow Lakelegend has it a woman drowned here more than a century ago and still makes spooky appearances.
  • Did you know this park was once filled with wild sand dunes? Now this hilly park has plenty of lakes meadows and roads to explore as well as the worlds largest collection of orchids!
  • On Sundays they close the road to traffic so you can let your dog off leash without fear of cars!
