At the end of October, the Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain announced the completion of their newly renovated Camelback and Mountain guestrooms. The new suites have been given a luxurious upgrade to include more modern décor and custom-crafted wood furniture. The interior space now reflects the surrounding desert with a neutral color palette and warm, natural colors like orange, brown, blue and yellow. They also feature a grand butterfly rug in the centerpiece of the room as a way of celebrating the Sanctuary’s certification as a Monarch habitat.

The renovated rooms range from 500-square-feet casitas to 1,500-square-feet, two-bedroom suites. Designed by Judith Testani as a way to capture the area’s climate and environment and bring the great outdoors inside, the rooms feature spacious seating, a dry bar and an outdoor seating area, while the suites have the added luxury of a wood-burning fireplace. Each room is outfitted with premium amenities like Italian Casa Rovea linens, Red Flower toiletries in an Asian neroli scent created exclusively for Sanctuary, in-room Peet’s Coffee and Fonté Tea service, Simmons Felicity pillow-top mattresses, signature eco-friendly robes and sandals, and access to Sanctuary’s spa facilities, including all movement studio classes.

To add to the character of each room, walls are decorated with paintings and photographs from local artists. In the skylight-lit bathroom, the walls are adorned with smoked mirrored glass to create a centerpiece and focal point for the oversized soaking tub, dual vanity and glass-enclosed shower.

Rates start at $295 per night for casitas and $335 per night for suites.
