Tips

  • The bawdy hosts and performers change every week at Floating Kabarette!, a weekly cabaret show (Sat 10:30pm). The red-lit island tables on the indoor lake are the most romantic seats.
  • Go for the Floating Kabrette on Saturdays. Awesome space with avant-garde performances every night.
  • From international film competitions to release parties for groundbreaking musicians and hilarious comedy acts, Galapagos is a crossroads of New York's art and culture scene.
  • GUMBO = Gay DUMBO Party. Galapagos is the home of DUMBO's first and only gay party. Parties are twice a month with rotating DJs and cute mix of BK and Manhattan gays. And free haircuts! Say what?
  • One of the best thing about this place is the monthly CreativeMornings.com series they host.
  • Galapagos is often the host of Creative Mornings, a monthly breakfast lecture series of creative types. Each event is free, includes a 20-minute talk, and free coffee & breakfast foods!
  • If coming for an event with cash bar, booze before hand - their drinks are not cheap
  • Support the circus arts by going to the floating kabarette at Galapagos artspace in DUMBO
  • The impressive digs can almost distract from the performances. Check out the huge reflecting pool at NYCs 1st LEED cultural venue.
  • Watch out for the rivers of water surrounding the red leather booths! Many a technological device has met its demise here.
  • Wake up early to experience Creative Mornings, a coffee-driven speaker series on all things creative. Make sure you sign up early as the guest list fills up quickly. Ben T., Creative
