Foursquare Tips

  • Despite the size of the bar area, Fino is where the craft cocktail movement began in Austin. Steadfast classics and original creations both have a home on the menu, which are best with the tapas.
  • Try the fried goat cheese at this swanky, modern Mediterranean restaurant near the UT campus. It is served with red onion jam, honey, and bread. It's a delicious appetizer not to be missed!
  • go to fino and be sure to have the fried olives and filo cigars! oh, and ask the bartender for wine suggestions--he's awesome!
  • Enjoy the great happy hour specials from 5-7pm. Fino has the best mixologist in Austin!
  • The Foursquare check-in special is, apparently, not endorsed by (& not honored by) the restaurant. Also, if you ask for olives in your martini, it'll cost you $1 for three olives.
  • Always as ask for wine tastings and recommendations...they haven't failed yet!
  • the fino benedict (sans ham) is fabulous.
  • Try the Seafood Paella
  • Mention to Brian(me) the manager that you use foursquare. surprise may follow
  • Get the Balcones Flip made with local whiskey and allspice Ginger. So good. Spicy and delicious!
  • try the appetizers
  • Shrimp and grits amazing
  • Four Square special is no longer good here.
  • Nice atmosphere and HH, but didn't like the fried olives at all.
  • BEWARE! They do NOT honor the Foursquare coupon! Food is great, but don't expect a discount!
  • Heads up: they don't acknowledge the 30% off special.
  • Chicken & Chorizo Paella. YUM!
  • Smart service, a comfy space (love the wraparound patio), and Mixed Mediterranean cuisine prepared authentically, whether it's shanks and paella or tapas with a drink from the intelligent bar list.
  • Boca Negro is the BEST dessert I have had in a long tome!
  • Steven Robbins, bartender at Midnight Cowboy, goes for their $1 sherries and paella at happy hour.
