Litchfield, IL (RestaurantNews.com) For 40 years, Larry and June Brandt raised corn and soybeans on their farm in Litchfield, Ill. Now they are making the transition from raising food to serving it as franchise owners of the new Litchfield Huddle House.
“The Litchfield community has not had anything like a Huddle House,” Larry said. “There are other restaurants, but none that are 24 hours with an expansive menu that covers all three meals.”
The Brandts are natives of Litchfield and decided to purchase their first franchise after several visits to Huddle House in nearby communities.
The Litchfield restaurant, at 11 Corvette Drive, is a freestanding location that reflects the 51-year-old chain’s new look and branding. The family-friendly, 24-hour diner will seat up to 99 people and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner all day. The menu offers a mix of Southern inspired comfort food, including signature Big House breakfasts, crispy hash browns, creamy grits, golden waffles and fluffy omelets, all made to order. Other favorites include Big Bold Burgers, Big House sandwich platters, country fried steak with green beans and marinated grilled chicken with sweet potato fries.
“It’s exciting to have new franchisees like Larry and June who are thrilled about sharing the Huddle House experience with their neighbors,” said Huddle House Chief Development Officer Jonathan Benjamin. “We expect Litchfield to very quickly embrace our mix of classic southern-style comfort food served in a warm, friendly environment and make Huddle House a popular gathering place for the entire community.”
The Lichfield opening is the latest for Huddle House, which has more than 400 restaurants open or under development and is aggressively expanding with plans to open an additional 100 restaurants over the next three years.
