Tips

  • Use your Louisville City Saver coupons to receive two offers forone free admission when a second admission of equal or greater value is purchased (up to $5 value).
  • Just across the river in Indiana you'll find a state park with fossils hidden in the banks of the Ohio
  • Fantastic views, wonderful and different each time you visit
  • Amazing! Park in lot before interpretive center and you don't have to pay for parking. You can walk on the flats without paying the museum fee.
  • Sign in parking lot says you need parking pass. How do you get one before you get here?... Ok, go inside. $2
  • It's best to visit between August and October when the river level is low.
  • Great Place To take a some fresh air
  • Great for photography!
  • Peaceful, free parking, very relaxing, excellent photography
  • Sunsets here are amazing!
  • In the summer, the fossil beds are hotter than the surrounding area. In the winter, they're under the river. Just be prepared!
  • You can take the drift wood. But no rocks, fossils, children or picanic baskets.
  • While you can only access the fossil beds when the river is low, it's also impressive seeing the river flowing over then when it's higher.
  • 2nd favorite place to spend my mornings.
