Fabulous Fifty: A Fall Weekend In NYC

Celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the New York Film Festival with a fall excursion to the Big Apple.

The NYFF, one of the most prestigious in the country, was founded with The Film Society of Lincoln Center to recognize and support new film makers, and to celebrate American and International film among a broad and diverse audience. From September 28 – Oct 14th, see world premiers and prizewinners from Cannes and Berlin, and attend special screenings, panel discussions and events.

Book a room at Hotel Americano, located just off the High Line in the northern corner of Chelsea. If the weather permits, venture out on one of the complimentary bikes to tool around the city or head upstairs to the rooftop for some of the best city views.

From the hotel, walk the High Line to 19th street and hop over to 9th Avenue for a Spanish style brunch at Salinas. Save an evening to dine with the duo from award winning Eleven Madison Park at their more relaxed, and less expensive, outpost, NoMad. We recommend splurging on a table on the roof.

After film hopping, pop over to Columbus Circle for the new art installation, "Discovering Columbus." Japanese artist Tatzu Nishi creates a living room around the 13 foot statue of Christopher Columbus.
