Athlete and mom-to-be Serena Williams sent her fiancé to the supermarket to satisfy her late-night cravings.

Serena Williams, 35, is craving zucchini, asparagus, and artichokes during her pregnancy.

The top-ranked athlete sent her fiancé, Alexis Ohanian, 34, to the store on a Friday so she could satisfy her late night craving for green vegetables.

“It’s Friday night, I’m at Publix, going shopping ’cause my fiancée has cravings,” Ohanian explained in the Instagram video he posted documenting Williams’ strange food desires. “I was told there would be cravings,” he says, showing off the vegetables. "I was not told they would be these.”

While most pregnant women traditionally seem to want things like stacks of chocolate chip pancakes or barbecue ribs, Williams appears to be indulging in healthy foods — if these even count as an indulgence.

At the very least, Williams knows that her pregnancy cravings are a little more unusual than pickles and peanut butter. “It's pretty backwards,” Williams admitted to E! News.

The 39-time Grand Slam winner explained that she's been eating “lots of greens, lots of vegetables” and getting protein from “either fish or different types of nuts and seeds.”
