Host A Summertime Tea Party Slideshow
Tiered Tray
A tiered tray is a classic choice for a tea party. If you don't have one, stack a few small cake stands or create a tray from extra plates and teacups.
Flowers
Create simple floral arrangements by tucking flowers — especially flowers that are light but full, like roses, peonies, and gardenias — into extra pieces of a tea set, like a teacup or teapot.
Vintage China
You can find vintage china teacups, saucers, teapots, and more at your local thrift store. Even when they don't match, they give off a "collected" feel.
Painted Utensils
Thrift store utensils painted in pastels are an easy way to personalize your tea party. Click here for instructions on how to do it yourself.
Pastries
It would hardly be a tea party without high-tea fare. Bake or buy a selection of pretty and delicate pastries like cannelés, French macarons, meringues, fruit tarts, jam cookies, and, of course, scones. Serve with clotted cream and jam.
