Bridal Shower Wine Suggestions From Drync (Slideshow)

Pine Ridge's Chenin Blanc/Viogner blend is a true crowd pleaser. Not only is it a very affordable option, but you'll also look like a wine insider for picking a viogner blend. The wine is bright and juicy, opening with tropical notes of pineapple and pear before finishing slightly off-dry, clean, and crisp.

If you're looking for an interesting story, Errazuriz Chardonnay Wild Ferment uses the naturally occurring yeast in the grape skins to ferment the wine rather than adding cultivated yeasts. Although it does have an oaky character, only 10 percent of the wine sees French oak; what you are left with is a nuanced wine that still shows intense fruit (in the form of apricot and peach) and good acidity to balance it out.

Rose

With its pretty pink hue, Mas Sainte Berthe Les Baux-de-Provence Passe Rose is perfect for a warm summer day, or a fun and lively wedding shower with your girls. This Grenache-based wine has a lovely light/medium body with fruity, juicy notes that are balanced with some mineral flavors on the finish.

Reds

Malbecs are great party wines; and, the Terrazas Reserva Malbec is one that we think will make your shower shine bright. With a deep ruby color and a delicate balance between the dark, ripe fruit flavors and the lighter floral notes, this wine is both sophisticated and smooth. Decant this wine before the party to let it shine even brighter.

Light Red

For a lighter red, we recommend Chalone Vineyard's Monterey County Pinot Noir. Good Pinot's for less than $20 can be tough to find, but this enjoyable Pinot noir is one that will please even the most discerning drinkers. Where it perhaps lacks in complexity, it makes up for in all-around deliciousness. The wine has bright red fruit flavors with notes of spice, a bright acidity, and a silkiness that makes it a very approachable choice.

Sparkling

For a sparkling wine that can stand on its own but won't be wasted as part of a mimosa, Casteller Cava Brut is the perfect choice. On the palate it has crisp, fresh flavors and a balanced sweetness that doesn't overpower.

A Special Toast

If you're doing a smaller shower or having a special toast, Iron Horse Wedding Cuvée is an appropriately named (although somewhat pricier pick). This Pinot noir-based sparkling wine is a pale peach color, with notes of strawberries and apricots and a creamy finish. This is the perfect wine to toast the new bride.

With these wines in hand, you're set for a perfect shower — now all you need is to pick the date, theme, guest list... hmm... well maybe it's time for that glass of wine now!
