21 Jaw-Dropping Wedding Cakes Slideshow

Midnight in Paris

This pair decided to relive their best Parisian memories — through photos and fondant by San Diego's The French Gourmet. As they cut a slice, they were talking a walk down memory lane and taking a bite out of the future.

The Giving Tree

Inspired by The Giving Tree, the beloved children's book by Shel Silverstein, this is not your ordinary wedding cake — or tree stump. Outfitted with the couple's initials carved into the bark and a replica of the bride's bouquet, the cake, crafted by Tiffany's Baking Company, is a nod to the couple's occupation as elementary school teachers, and is an unexpected, but delightfully memorable, alternative to more traditional cakes.

Día De Los Muertos

You wouldn't expect to see a cake covered in flames — or topped with skeleton figures, for that matter — at a wedding. It's kind of sinister. But for one couple getting married on Día de los Muertos, in a cemetery nonetheless, this cake created by Rosebud Cakes was a fitting tribute to those who couldn't be with them on the special day.

Boggle Lovin'

Boggle lovers unite! This cake, made for a word-wizard couple, would be perfect for brides and grooms who are interested in letting their wedding reflect their hobbies.

A Royal Affair

For those who didn't make it across the pond (or even those that did) to witness the royal wedding last year, create one of your own! Map out the cake like Prince William and Duchess Catherine's wedding party and roll like the royals.

Spell It Out

This four-tiered cake by Pink Cake Box will spell out what's important in its four tiers. This bride and groom, who played Scrabble with each other while the groom was stationed in Iraq, put all their tiles down on love.

His & Hers

This cake from the Costa Mesa, Calif., shop Christopher Garrens illustrates the different personalities of a bride and groom (heels vs. sneakers; champagne vs. beer). We're wondering how the sides keep from toppling over.

Let Them Eat Cake

What else is there to say? Forget about looks, it's what's inside that counts, and this cake by Cupcakes Couture of Manhattan Beach is no exception to the rule.

A Whole Lot of Ho-Ho's

Sweet teeth! The groom, Phil Delaplane of Red Hook, N.Y., a culinary instructor and chef, made this cake to surprise his wife, as they are both huge Hostess fans.

Building Blocks

Leggo Love by Couture Cakery.

Playing Video Games

Throwback! Pac-Man topped the wedding cake of two self-declared Pac-Man lovers, plus it matched their color scheme. Their friend made this cake with sentiment, obviously.

Super Romance

A couple bonds over common interests, this couple bonded over video games. What better way to portray it then with the quintessential prom king and queen of the console — Super Mario and Princess Peach?

It's All Downhill..

Into extreme sports? This couple, too. No novices to a little speed and uphill battles, they used a play on words with a sign that reads, "It's all downhill from here." No truer words have been spoken — just kidding!

Up!

Here's a Disney-loving couple that modeled their entire wedding after the beloved animated movie, Up. Get playful with fillings, frostings, and colors and make sure to hold on to the top tier — it might fly away.

Bridezilla?

Yes, this is a wedding cake, crafted by Connecticut-based J-Cakes. Note to the groom: Don't anger your bride...

Not into sweets at all? Think like a mouse and go for the cheese. Cheese, dried fruits, and nuts — slice into this savory creation and be remembered for originality.

Topsy-Turvy

Feeling a little whimsical? If unsure of a filling, a color, a theme — or really anything at all when it comes to designing the cake — just mix it up, literally.

Till Death Do Us Part

Guess what holiday this bride and groom had their wedding on? That's right — Halloween. Going for gore, they modeled their cake after one they saw on Food Network. This scary guy was made by Pink Cake Box.

Rainbow Romance

Houston bakery Rise and Shine walked into the world of Technicolor when they made this cake. No, no, don't be fooled — those aren't Skittles — each little ball is a different-hued piece of fondant. Talk about ombré.

Bride's Big Day

Some may say that the big day is all about the bride — we, here at The Daily Meal beg to differ. A wedding is a joint celebration; it's about two people. Though if you love a good wedding dress, maybe this mannequin is for you.

Rice Krispies Love

Talk about snack-a-holics. This Rice Krispies Treat cake made an appearance at the wedding of two people who really know how to snap, crackle, and pop.
