For a rooftop dining and drink experience in San Francisco’s Mission District, El Techo de Lolinda is the place to go.

“The roof of Lolinda” in Spanish, El Techo offers two levels for dining and a chic rooftop terrace. Favorite dishes include the ensalada de Palmito, a salad consisting of hearts of palm, avocado, baby gems, and lime dressing, as well as an appetizer, ceviche de pescado, a starter made from ono, aji Amarillo, fried corn, and sweet potato.

Michael Bauer told Inside Scoop that he “loved the warming embrace of short ribs, stewed in tomato and saffron and served with carrots and other root vegetables.” Meesha Halm of Zagat called El Techo “a hip new late-night wood-fired grill-centric Argentinean steakhouse and small-plates hangout” with true California-style eats and seasoned mixologists. For an interesting rooftop experience of Latin American food and drink with a California twist, check out El Techo de Lolinda.

  • Best rooftop drinking in the mission
  • It's not that high really
  • Great rooftop cocktail bar with views of downtown SF. Huge and good for groups. The pisco cocktail was perfect.
  • find startup boys & delicious drinks at this hot rooftop
  • The quesadilla with kale in it is made with the most delicious of corn flour tortillas. Get a pitcher of margs or pia coladas to share with your table.
  • The rooftop has the best outdoor seating in SF, making our list of "The Tastes That Make the City: SF Edition."
  • Chilcano cocktail rocks
  • I hear the chef in heaven wants El Techo's corn pancake recipe.
  • Sunday afternoon drinks and snack with a view on downtown.
  • Chicaronnes de Carne + guacamole + margarita pitcher = perfect brunch option for a sunny afternoon in the Mission
  • Great rooftop bar for drinks after work
  • For brunch, order a pound of the pork. It will change your life.
  • Great view! The Chicharonnes are non traditional but tasty. Plantains are good too.
  • Go on a sunny day and enjoy your chicharrones with a side of sunburn. Yes, the chicharrones is well worth it!
  • Great atmosphere with heat lamps to boot. Sadly, the service here was pretty awful. Very slow and disorganized. :(
  • Cocktails and view
  • Perfect for rooftop margaritas on a warm night, especially at sunset.
  • The margaritas are amazing - and definitely get the guac!
  • Great rooftop bar/restaurant. Try the ceviche, guac, and a pitcher of sangria!
  • If brunch had a nightclub, this would be it. Latin American-inspired brunch items like poached eggs served atop jalapeno cornbread are satisfying, but the dish to beat is the chicharrones de carne.
