Where to Dine with Mom in Chicago on Mother’s Day 2016

Treat Mom to an Italian feast with Balena’s prix fixe Mother’s Day brunch. Enjoy dishes like smoked salmon bruschetta or artichoke Benedict, accompanied by spicy breakfast potatoes, arugula salad, or breakfast toast. Don’t forget a cheeky morning cocktail! Balena will have its signature bellinis and Bloody Marys along with other craft cocktails. Kids can feel fancy too with fun soda flavors like blueberry and kaffir lime. The brunch is $35 per person.

They say the kitchen is the heart of a happy home, so why not cook up a special meal with your mom at The Social Table? Its Summer brunch class is available this Sunday, just for Mom. It includes dishes such as almond French toast; watermelon, mint, and feta salad; and mushroom, leek, and goat cheese quiche. It will taste twice as good because you made it together!

Geja’s Café is going above and beyond for mothers this Sunday. When you bring your mom in for some delicious fondue, she will also receive a complimentary massage and a glass of bubbly to put her right at ease. Now that’s service! The restaurant opens at 1 pm.

If money is tight, but you want to make sure your Mom doesn’t leave brunch hungry, Belly Q is a great option this Sunday. For $18 per person, you can get the four-course Belly Feast, which includes dishes like breakfast fried rice, tempura bacon, and Wagyu beef dumplings. Top it off with a Belly Mary, and Mom will roll home happy.

Maybe you can’t manage to take Mom to Mexico, but you can take her to a brunch that will make her feel like she’s there. Dos Urban Cantina’s brunch buffet, $24 per person, will offer dishes teeming with bold Mexican flavors. Features include a fresh guacamole bar, egg and cheese empanadas, and Mexican chocolate coffee cake. Specialty mimosas will be available as well, with flavors such as prickly pear lime and pineapple mint. A wine cart of the patio will deliver newly released rosés.

Take advantage on a special, one-time-only menu at Imperial Lamian’s Mother’s Day Dim Sum brunch. Along with favorite xiao long bao from the usual menu, there special new dumplings made just for the occasion, like the Shanghai dumpling. Their famous lamian noodles, rice dishes, and desserts will also be on offer.
