Ritz-Carlton, San Francisco, Offers December Festivities And Events

Guests visiting the Ritz-Carlton, San Francisco, this December can enjoy a variety of holiday festivities in the resort's reimagined spaces as the 105-year-old hotel has completed a five-year multi-phase renovation.

At the end of 2011, the historic Nob Hill resort reopened Parallel 37, its signature restaurant. The following year, a renovated lobby and lounge was unveiled. In 2014, redesigned meeting spaces and the ballroom were completed. Additionally, the resort redesigned the 336 guest rooms including 60 suites in a palette of steel blues and grays, drawing inspiration from the Bay and its iconic fog.

The new rooms also feature highlights taken from men's fashion. Chaise lounges are covered in a masculine tweed, curtain cords resemble belts, and layered wall coverings and woven pillows add to a contemporary sleek and modern atmosphere.

Last year, the resort launched the JCB Tasting Lounge, a luxury area offering wine flights and small bites as well as a small retail boutique. The intimate lounge seats 14 and offers exclusive Jean-Charles Boisset wines at $50 to $100 per flight. Specialty food options from the resort's Parallel 37 restaurant are also featured. The opulent atmosphere is perfect for the holiday season with purple velvet sofas, displays of Baccarat jewelry, and leopard carpeting.

This holiday season, The Ritz-Carlton, San Francisco, is offering a variety of special events and dinners. The traditional teddy bear tea — featuring an elf, giant teddy bear, hot cocoa, sandwiches, and teddy bear cookies — also includes a special teddy bear gift. Additionally, a special holiday afternoon tea highlighting winter flavors and special tea blends will be available during December.

A tree lighting ceremony will take place on Thursday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. when Santa Claus arrives to light the 40-foot tree outside the resort.

Special Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day menus will be available at Parallel 37 and in the lounge.
