Enjoy The Winter Scenery Without The Chill At Chicago's J. Parker Rooftop Restaurant

Chicago finally got a huge helping of snow this winter. It might be a pain to get around in it, but it sure is pretty to look at. What better way to enjoy it than from a warm rooftop with cocktail in hand?

The J. Parker has opened its patio for the first time this week as it debuts its new retractable roof. Surrounded by glass, it offers guests stunning views of Lincoln Park and Lake Michigan throughout the year.

"It's a fabulous new neighborhood amenity," said Alderman Michele Smith of the 43rd Ward at the kickoff for the newly covered space. It was clear from the attendance that the spot is going to be very popular.

The menu features a number of specialty cocktails. Get cozy with their Rockin' Chair, a delicious take on hot buttered rum, or try to get spring to come early with their refreshing Flying Home, bright with Cherry Heering and lime.

Small plates are also available. The beet salad is fun and fresh with blue cheese and a peach vinaigrette. Beef shank chili is a perfect accompaniment as you take in the spectacular snowy view.

If you ever miss rooftops in winter, J. Parker has got a drink with your name on it.
