The Daily Dish: June 23, 2016

Today's first course?

Chobani has brought its newest products, Meze Dips, to life in the form of an edible home. The house features a floor-to-ceiling living wall, an indoor pool with floating gardens, and, in total, more than 25 varieties of produce that are perfect for pairing with the new dips. Best of all, the house is not only beautiful to look at, but one lucky fan and three guests will have the opportunity to stay at the home over 4th of July weekend.  Florence is known as the Renaissance capital of Italy, with historic buildings, piazzas, and small businesses as far as the eye can see from atop the Duomo cathedral. But McDonald's has applied to build a restaurant in the Piazzo del Duomo, and the Italian community — understandably — is not too pleased. The plans have spurred an online petition on Facebook with 5,000 members calling on the city to say "No to McDonald's in the Piazza Duomo." But this fast food restaurant wouldn't be just a regular McNugget spot. McDonald's has unveiled plans to build an eatery that's "a little less fast food, a little more restaurant".

Burger King follows up its burger burrito mashup, the Whopperito, with another food mashup, in collaboration with the Cheetos brand: Mac n' Cheetos. Mac n' Cheetos, which have been spotted in southern California and Indiana but are soon coming to stores nationwide, are Cheetos-shaped deep-fried macaroni and cheese sticks that are dusted with "crispy Cheetos flavor," according to a release. Though fried mac n' cheese balls are nothing new, perhaps the association with the Cheetos brand will appeal to customers.

That's today's daily dish, thanks for watching. Stop by tomorrow for another helping.
