Target Is Going To Sell $5 Wine

Target recently announced that they will be selling a new line of wines for $5 a bottle. The wine is set to roll out in stores September 3.

The line, called California Roots, will include chardonnay, pinot grigio, moscato, cabernet sauvignon, and a red blend.

Target introduced the wines (and offered tasting notes) in a release announcement on the retailer's corporate site. "Adding California Roots is all about creating something new and special for our guests," the press release explains.

According to Target's blog, their adult beverage section was the single fastest growing division at Target last year, with craft beer at the front of those sales, and the launch of the new wine line is in keeping with an increased focus on alcohol sales. The store announced this spring that it would be launching a concept store near Houston that houses a wine and beer shop — the first of 500 planned store redesigns in the country.

Target is rolling out tons of new items, but if you're Angelina Jolie there is probably one thing you won't find. Check out why her hot dog run to Target ended in disappointment.
