6 Buzziest Beers Of 2013 (So Far) Slideshow

6. The 'Beard' Beer

The long-awaited beer from Rogue Ales is finally here. The beer, made with yeast from the brewmaster's beard (yes, really), was blogged about, tweeted about, and weirded out just about everyone. Still, that doesn't mean that the beer, which is on sale at Rogue now, won't be tried by just about everyone.

5. Rocky Mountain Oyster Stout

Another anticipated beer from last year? Wynkoop Brewing Co.'s Rocky Mountain Oyster Stout. What was just an April Fool's joke back in 2012 is now a full-fledged beer, made with real Rocky Mountain oysters, sold at the Denver brewery. Sounds crazy, but RateBeer has given the  brew a 94 score — pretty high.

4. 'Game of Thrones' Brew

Of course the year's most talked-about TV show gets a beer. Ommegang Brewery delighted Game of Thrones fans when it announced a partnership with HBO to develop a beer specifically for the TV show. And the beer lives up to the greatness of the show.

3. Girl Scout Cookie Beer

Dear Cervecería de MateVeza (brewer in San Francisco),

We'll never be able to repay you for the greatness you bestowed upon the world, when you brewed a beer made just in honor of Girl Scout Cookies. Now if you can wave your wand and make both the Girl Scout cookie beer lineup (and cookies) year-round, we will really be forever indebted.

Sincerely,

The Daily Meal

2. The 'Holy Grail' of Beer

The Westvleteren 12, released for the first time in the U.S. at the end of 2012, may just be one of the hardest beers to find in the world. Monks decided to sell the Trappist Belgian in order to pay for renovations at the monastary; however, the release in the U.S. may have been the only time the beer will ever be sold in the States. No wonder it's been called the "holy grail" of beer.

1. Budweiser Black Crown

Oh, Anheuser-Busch. You really thought you could win over the world of craft beer with a "hipster," tastier beer aimed at the millennials. Unfortunately, the beer, released in time for the Super Bowl in January, was a bit of a flop. Some loved it, some hated it. We just couldn't believe it.
