A Drink For Every Mom Slideshow

The Baker: Chocolate-tini

Mom's pies, brownies, and chocolate chip cookies always hit the spot. To repay her for a lifetime of baked goods, the alcoholic version of mom's chocolate creations is in order. If you and mom are watching your waistlines, this low-fat treat provides little guilt. Too bad we can't say the same about her other decadent desserts!

Ingredients

  • 2 parts espresso vodka
  • 1 part Coffee-Mate Natural Bliss Low-fat Chocolate
  • Hone and grated chocolate, for garnish

Coat the rim with honey, then dip in grated chocolate. Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice, add espresso vodka and Coffee-Mate; cover. Shake for 10 seconds. Strain into chilled champagne glass.

The Traveling/Worldly Woman: Cos"mom"politan

For the mom that has seen it all — not just the world, but all of her kids' antics — while traveling. Did you try to maneuver a Vespa in Italy (and give mom a heart attack)? Maybe you thought driving in Mexico was a good idea (despite mom's disapproval). We're not even going to bring up Vegas... Treat mom to a simple, low-cal Cosmo. She deserves a worldly drink to match her passport adventures.

Ingredients

  • 5 parts Skinnygirl™ White Cranberry Cosmo
  • Frozen cranberries, for garnish

Mix Skinnygirl™ White Cranberry Cosmo and ice in shaker glass. Strain and pour into a martini glass

Spicy Mommacita: Mamma Mia

As sweet as she is, sometimes moms can have a little spice to her advice. With ginger and two dashes of bitters, the more intense side of mom's personality meets her sugary self with pear nectar and a pear slice.

Ingredients

  • 4 pieces fresh ginger
  • 2 oz Inniskillin riesling
  • 1½ ounces pear nectar (muddled fresh pears or pre-made peach juice; can substitute apple cider as well)
  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters
  • Dust with nutmeg
  • Pear slice, for garnish

In the mixing glass muddle ginger, add remaining ingredients, add ice, shake, strain over fresh ice into a highball glass and garnish.

The Lady Who Lunches: "Mom"osa

Mimosas are the best at brunch, but a class act like mom can enjoy them all day (and night) long. Cheers to the lady who spends her days socializing and shopping, her nights being charitable, and the holidays with the family who celebrates her for doing so.

Ingredients

  • 2 parts chilled MARTINI® Asti
  • 1 part orange juice
  • Strawberry, for garnish

Pour orange juice into a flute glass. Top with MARTINI® Asti.

The Health Nut/Juicer: Rise & Shine

If hardest part about this year's Mother's Day gift was choosing between a yoga studio membership and an Omega Juicer, mom can drink to health with a cocktail that combines orange, lemon, and pomegranate juice. With antioxidants and vitamins (and alcohol), there's no lack of nutritional value — or fun — in this round of cocktails.

Ingredients

  • 1 part GREY GOOSE® L'Orange Vodka
  • ½ part orange juice
  • ½ part lemon juice
  • 1½ parts pomegranate juice
  • MARTINI® Asti

Combine vodka, orange juice, lemon juice, pomegranate juice, and ice into a cocktail shaker. Shake well and strain into a flute. Top with MARTINI® Asti.

The Soccer Mom: Soccer Mom Punch

Mom drove us to every cheerleading competition and soccer practice. For the woman in our life that not only provided refreshments (read: orange slices, grapes, watermelon, and sports drinks) during our biggest matches, the perfect pairing of fruit and vodka will bring her back to the days of carpooling and karate class, with a kick. Created by mixologist Lindsay Nader of Elysium Craft Cocktail Services in Los Angeles.

Ingredients:

  • 2 ounces SKYY Infusions Moscato Grape
  • ¾ ounces fresh lime juice
  • ¾ ounces simple syrup
  • 3 medium watermelon chunks
  • 1 thyme sprig, for garnish

In a cocktail shaker, muddle thyme and watermelon. Add the rest of the ingredients. Shake and finely strain over ice in a rocks glass.
