Doyle & Doyle Open Meatpacking Flagship Store And Debut New Collection
Luxury jewelers Doyle & Doyle, proprietors of antique and fine estate jewelry, celebrated the opening of their new 2,000-square-foot Meatpacking flagship store at 412 West 13th St. this month with members of the fashion press and notables such as Lynn Yeager and City Council Speaker Christine Quinn in attendance. The store, whose interior is inspired by The Crystal Palace and Victorian gardens, opened its cast iron and glass doors to the public on November 15.
"We had been on Orchard Street since 2000," said founder Elizabeth Doyle of the jewelry store's original home. "But when our lease was about to expire, we started exploring different options. The Meatpacking [district] has the same community vibrancy that Orchard Street had when we first opened. There is an excitement about the area and an involvement by community entrepreneurs that makes the neighborhood what it is. It was comfortable, but would also challenge us to grow and be better."
The rich teal walls and pink accents add warmth and intimacy to the gallery space. The boutique will highlight a mix of Georgian, Victorian, Art Deco, Art Nouveau, and Edwardian jewels alongside their exclusive in-house brand, Heirloom.
To commemorate the milestone, Doyle and Doyle also launched a new special collection of jewels aptly named the West 13th Collection. Items incorporated a navigational theme, a nod to the brand moving to a new location. The design of the collection is equal parts rough and polished to reflect both the industrial history and the current modern glossy face of its new neighborhood. Pieces include earrings, a cuff bracelet, lockets and pendants, and the hero product: the North Star Engagement Ring, featuring a 1.16ct round brilliant cut diamond set in a platinum basket with a gallery of eight diamonds set on the side prongs.
