Foursquare Tips

  • Recommended: Quesadillas, burritos, tacos and chips with salsa. When asked if you want guacamole, the correct answer is yes.
  • Try the Carne Asada taco here, the tender cubes of rich flap steak are seasoned with a secret spice blend. It's one of NYC's 26 best tacos!
  • Hierarchy of meats: steak > chicken > pork. Bonus tip: the super hot sauce is best used on the side. They'll apply too liberally if you ask them to add it.
  • Great tacos
  • Go to this San Fran-style taqueria for yummy and cheap steak, chicken or pork tacos for $3.67 per. Also try the carne asado burrito for $8.
  • Cults love this taco joint because they say it's "the closest thing to California Mexican in NYC." Fun fact: Dos Toros was started by a previous member of The Morning Benders.
  • Better than chipotle! Whoa.
  • real taqueria with just 15 seats, cooks chopping meat and cilantro as you walk in, 2 tacos de carnitas for 7 dollars and a stinging cold can of tecate for 2 bucks and a quarter and a nickel
  • Cal Mex has never been better here than at this San Francisco-style burrito joint. The carne asada tacos are one of our faves, bulging with tender marinated steak. Don't forget to spring for the guac
  • Two friends from Berkeley, CA came to NY to bring a true California burrito to a burrito wasteland. Modeled after Gordos burritos, its impossible to tell the difference. Get the Pollo Asado! Jeremy
  • have a steak taco, but hold the cheese and guac. the steak shines on its own with some hot salsa.
  • Steak tacos. Salsa verde. Guac. Perfect.
  • if you go too strong with the hot sauce prepare yourself for a proper Vision Quest - sweating, hallucinations, deep communion with your spirit animal
  • Best burrito hands down
  • Warning: There are no grilled veggies at this location. Still good though.
  • Their burritos are top notch. Nice and fresh. Add guac and a beer.
  • Fantastic burritos and tacos.
  • Best burrito in the city
  • Get the guacamole, better than chipotle. Do NOT get the hot sauce - unless you like your mouth ruined. For real, I like spicy but this is ridiculous.
  • Great alternative to Chipotle/Q'doba, but veggies beware: rice contains chicken stock. Hot sauce is ROCKING kinda spicy.
