On Thursday, March 13, The Doe Fund will host its third annual sweet: New York fundraiser at the Bowery Hotel. Restaurants all over New York will be participating in the tasting event, and students from The Doe Fund’s own culinary training program will work alongside top chefs to prepare a variety of menu items for the tasting event. Proceeds from the event will go to The Doe Fund’s Ready, Willing, & Able program.
Participating restaurants include Tao, Lavo, Pescatore, Telepan, Dinosaur BBQ, Loi, Magnolia Bakery, and others. So far, signature dishes to look out for include spicy tuna tartare from Tao, meatballs with sheep's milk ricotta and sausage ragu from Lavo, and baklava kyklos — layers of phyllo stuffed with walnuts and almonds in spiced honey syrup — from Telepan.
Guests will also be able to enjoy specialty cocktails, as well as wine from renowned vineyards and craft beers and spirits. So far, celebrity attendees will include Dasha Polanco from Orange is the New Black and Zineb Oukach from Wolf of Wall Street.
