Big corporate buffs are constantly looking for a new place to wine and dine their prospective and current clients. The days of the two martini lunch are becoming obsolete and it’s simply not reasonable to take everyone and their mother out for a steak dinner in hopes of gaining their business. Slowly revolutionizing business meetings are breakfasts. And Park Avenue Tavern, conveniently located steps from Grand Central Station in Midtown, is serving up some slammin’ morning offerings.
Although extremely limited, Park Avenue Tavern managed to pack all the right stuff onto the menu. Classics like omelettes and steal-cut oatmeal, to more unique items like the Baked Brie & Fig, Strata, and the Açai Bowl.
If your choice is eggs in the morning, you’ll be happy to hear that their omelettes are light and fluffy. Kick it up a notch with gruyere cheese, bacon, and mushrooms. That always gets the job done.
What needs to be discussed is the Smoked Salmon Carpaccio, which we’ll even go as far to say is comparable with Sadelle’s. We’ve had our fair share of bagels and lox over the years and this is up there on our list of favorites. The bagel comes lathered with caper cream cheese. That’s right, they already saved you two steps – lathering your bagel and adding the capers. The salmon is extremely fresh and cut perfectly. Be sure to apply generously.
Centrally located, this spot is easy to get to from wherever you are. You’re not just limited to breakfast either; they specialize in catering to the happy hour crowd too. Grab a few brews with coworkers any day during the week after work. If for some crazy reason you’re feeling like venturing into Midtown on the weekend, stop in for brunch… $5 drafts and brunch cocktails.
