Here's Where To Eat And Drink In D.C. On July 4th

History is made every day in the nation's capital so why not celebrate the history of America's independence in Washington, D.C.? Our booming dining scene shows no signs of slowing down, and you can survive the heat at dozens of watering holes and eateries offering patriotic menus and drinks.

There are menus and party styles to fit everyone from posh parties overlooking the city to German bakeries, and plebian pub bashes that celebrate barbecue and red, white, and blue. Here's a list of a few favorites we think you'll enjoy.

City Tap Penn Quarter Hosts Annual BeerBQ

Beer lovers will want to make their Independence Day celebrations at City Tap in Penn Quarter next Wednesday. This local brewpub will be serving barbecue with all the fixings from 12 PM to 5 PM while local, regional breweries fight the pub's kitchen for the title, Crowd Favorite Barbecue. The breweries competing include City Tap, 3 Stars Brewing Co., Evolution Craft Brewing, and Center of the Universe Brewing Co. and for $18 guests can chow down on sample platters that include plenty of "Q" coleslaw, potato salad, and a limited selection of $5 beers. Don't miss frozen John Dalys, stout beer-ice cream floats,  lemony shandy cocktails, cornhole competitions, and a patriotic outfit contest.
