Foursquare Tips

  • Looking to grab some cheap food before a show? Caf Crepe is right nextdoor! Team Live Nation
  • Need some cash? There is an ATM located near the coatcheck. Team Live Nation
  • Sick of washroom line ups? Did you know that there is a bathroom upstairs in the Commodore? Team Live Nation
  • Best live music venue in Vancouver Period. Smokers: There are no in and out privileges. Also if the back (main) bar is busy, youd be surprised how fast the Granville and Alley side Bars move.
  • The spring dance floor is legend. So are some of the performances that took place here. The Clash played their first North American show here in 1979. More at link below.
  • My favourite place in Vancouver to see a show as I'm convinced there isn't a single bad location in the room to see or hear the band. Cheers to the acoustic engineer who helped design this venue.
  • A great historic venue with classy decor, ambiance, acoustics and a wooden dance floor that feels like its gonna cave in underneath you when everybody's hopping!
  • Their romaine salad with Caesar dressing tastes fresh!
  • Vancouver's Destroyer (a.k.a. New Pornographers' Dan Bejar's other band) plays the Commodore on March 17. He's just released the video for the title track on his new album:
  • On 02/13/2011 the Decibel Sponsored Creatures from the Black Abyss Tour stops here! Featuring Cradle of Filth, Nachtmystium, Turisas and Daniel Lioneye
  • If upstairs open, skip the wait & go to the washroom upstairs. Men & women ;-)
  • Go in here early to your favorite band's concert. Save yourself a spot right in front of the stage. Bring a camera and take lots of pictures!
  • Historic live music venue. Grab a bit before the show, they also have a bar menu.
  • Had a blast playing here last night along side the lovely staff making it a simple magic wonderful time :)
  • Fantastic old-school-style ballroom w/ the bouncy floor (just like the Crystal in PDX) and tiered seating. Views from everywhere and very attentive staff.
  • Cool place with lots of history. Load in is a massive pain if you are carrying lots of production though
  • I've see Tech N9ne, Chance tha Rapper & now Robert Delong! GOOD shizzzzzzzzzxzzzzzzzznet
  • Best venue in the city. If you like a band and they are playing here, don't miss it!
  • The sound here is terrible for electronic shows.
  • Some of the nicest people work here!
