Foursquare Tips

  • Turn up the wattage on your holiday season with Wildlights at the Zoo, which features numerous light displays, activities for the kids, and Bob Evans Polar Express. This holiday event is fun for all!
  • Plan an early trip to the zoo. Get there before 9:30 - the animals are active and the crowds are small.
  • There are a lot of animals that are pretty active when its cold/cool out. We really enjoyed the wolves, flamingos, polar bears, wolverine and the indoor gorilla house!
  • See if the koala is actually awake for once.
  • Rated the number one zoo in America by USA Travel Guide. The Columbus Zoo is home to over 9,000 animals representing over 675 species. Don't forget about Zoombezi Bay for summer water park fun!
  • The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium is a non-profit zoo that's home to over 5,000 animals representing over 700 species - and Jungle Jack Hanna!
  • Be Sure to check out the new Polar Bear exhibit!!!
  • At 2:00 pm every kid at the zoo starts crying and screaming. Come early to avoid that show.
  • The #1 Zoo in the country...the best place to visit
  • The lines at the food court for the healthier food are MUCH shorter and you will find open tables near the aquarium.
  • Jack Hanna has left his mark here. This is one of the best zoos in the United States. The best experience is during the summer months when most of the animals are outside. Don't miss the elephants.
  • Did you know? In 1956, the Columbus Zoo welcomed Colo, the first gorilla in the world to be born in a zoo.
  • Loved the polar bear exhibit and the penguins! Such a beautiful zoo.
  • Definately worth having a membership if you plan on coming more than 3 times in a year!
  • Coming early is your best bet but Sundays are usually a day when the animals are active and its not too busy. Trust me I work here
  • Excellent! Loved the African and Asian areas!!!
  • Great place, lots of fun!
  • Best Zoo in Ohio! Hands down!
  • The Zoo was terrible! Very few animals on display, only 1 or 2 big aquarium displays, and in those tanks the water was cloudy. The prices were crazy, $3.00 for a $.99 bottle of water!
  • Be sure to catch the Animals on Safari show!
