Coastal Uncorked: Food, Wine, & Spirits Festival In Myrtle Beach

You've seen it before — miles of sandy beaches with the sun setting over crashing waves on some glossy magazine cover. We're not saying it's always South Carolina's Myrtle Beach, but it could be. This month, the town's Southern charm combines with extravagant food offerings at the second annual Coastal Uncorked Food and Wine Festival

May 8 and through May 15 you'll find a host of culinary and cultural delights to keep you well fed and entertained.  Start with the Coastal Casuals event where local favorites like Aspen Grille will showcase a collection of exquisite sparkling wines from around the world alongside mouth-watering appetizers.

After happy hour, you can look forward to "20.11" dinners. Participating restaurants, from Bovine's to Chestnut Hill, will be offering a pre-fixed tasting menu for $20.11.

Those of us who are born wanderers will enjoy the Tasting Trolley. Making 10 stops on Friday, May 13th and Saturday May 14th for $75 (for both days), the trolley ride will let you eat and drink at eight themed hotel stops, a beer garden event on the Boardwalk, and a winery event at Market Common.

You may also rub elbows with celebrity cooks like Paula Deen who will be hosting a signature cooking event. Paula will be showcasing her southern cuisine skills — likely deep fried and with extra butter.

Travelers need not worry about accommodations as Myrtle Beach boasts some classic resort accommodations — all with ocean views, of course — from the Bay View to the Landmark Resort and the Island Vista Resort.
