  • This zoo was founded in 1882 which makes it the seventh oldest zoo in the country. All 165 acres are split up into different areas, such as the rainforest, African Savanna & Aquatics House.
  • Northeast Ohios most popular year-round attraction, Cleveland Metroparks Zoo, founded in 1882, is one of the oldest and largest zoos in the United States.
  • Spend a day walking at the Zoo! Walking is great exercise and the zoo is a great way to spend the day with family and friends.
  • The Zoo uses the Argos satellite location and data collection system to track and monitor Trumpeter Swans and Andean Condors. Argos was created through an agreement of NOAA, NASA and CNES.
  • Head to Lorikeet Lane to feed nectar to the birds.
  • December Days offers seasonal activities for the whole family to enjoy including animal programs, seasonal music, eco-friendly crafts, holiday cookie decorating and more. (Dec. 17-30)
  • If the temperature drops below 32-degrees, tickets are half price. Two of us got in to both the zoo and the rainforest for $7 total.
  • Polar bear days in January! 1/2 price admission to zoo&rainforest if the temp is below 32 take the heated bus throughout the whole zoo:)
  • On Mondays, the Zoo (not including The RainForest) is FREE for residents of Cuyahoga County.
  • The RainForest is a great place to take the little ones in the winter, but the building is very warm, so dress appropriately.
  • Biggest zoo I've ever been too! It was awesome!!! And the dinosaurs special exhibit was amazing!!!! Make sure you have all day to visit!!!!

  • If you get here before 11:00 am, head over to the Steffes Vet Clinic by the rhinos. You might catch the vet staff performing a procedure! Very cool!
  • Love all the green space in Cleveland! Wonderful places to relax and go for a walk.

  • Check out the cleveland zoo camp in the summer. It is a great camp.
  • I love the zoo and can't wait to visit again.
  • Boo at the Zoo is a fun time. I also enjoy their Earth Day Celebration.
  • Be sure to bring water bottles for those extra hot days. The paths at the zoo can be long and hot. Always love seeing the big cats.
