Foursquare Tips

  • Watch a film in Auditorium 1 upstairs - it's one of the most beautiful theaters I've ever been in.
  • The right spot to indulge in 1920s glamour and amazing architecture designed by Louis Jaffe and inspired to Moorish Revival style.
  • Not the most modern or comfortable theater, but they do have an amazing roster of movies that are not part of the mainstream. And its very clean and the prices are slightly cheaper.
  • Auditorium 1 is a converted playhouse... Beautiful space to see any movie!
  • Auditorium 5 is a lot less "auditorium" and a lot more "big screen TV"
  • Movies before 12pm are $6
  • Theater #6 is where Diane Lane and Olivier Martinez got "hot and heavy" during a movie in the film Unfaithful.
  • Come watch "the room" well worth it
  • Try seeing a movie in theater 1. Looks like a 50s style opera theater. The other theaters here, not so much.
  • Worst
  • Students come on Tuesdays and get $7 tickets and free popcorn!!!!!
  • One of my favorite film theaters in NYC, it has the friendliest staff and always has a mix of foreign/independent with box office draws. Please support this theater!
  • This locale was formerly a playhouse. Make sure your movie is in the main theater which is massive and ornate with stadium seating.
  • The theaters downstairs are all super small. It should not be $13
  • See The Room.
  • Great place to watch some anime movies and geek out with others.
  • incredibly uncomfortable theater with airplane-like leg room. if comfort strongly affects your viewing experience, see your movie elsewhere.
  • The popcorn is the best.
  • Originally opened in 1926, the space has in its long history housed everything from vaudeville to off-Broadway. Their gorgeous main theater will often show whatever the biggest seller of the week is.
  • Come on a Tuesday and pay $7 as a student- plus free popcorn :)
