Easy Cheesy Garlic Bread

Easy Cheesy Garlic Bread
3 from 22 ratings
As I walked into the kitchen once as a kid, following the scent and sizzling sound of garlic sautéing in the pan, I looked up at my mom who was stirring the garlic around, and she nonchalantly said, "You know, if you cook garlic... people will come." It made me laugh at the time, but it has proven to be a true fact for such a smelly item. When my apartment filled (and I mean filled!) with the scent of roasting garlic, butter, and cheese, my roommates couldn't get in the kitchen fast enough, and I think I saw some neighbors trying to climb through the windows, too! So be warned, lock your windows and doors when making this inviting garlic bread. Click here to see 7 Reasons to Eat More Garlic

Ingredients
  • 7-8 medium-sized cloves of garlic, chopped
  • 4 olive oil
  • 1 italian seeded baguette
  • 4 butter
  • 2 shredded mozzarella
  • 4 dried parsley
Directions
  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Heat the oil in a sauce pan over medium heat. Add the chopped garlic and sauté for 3-5 minutes, until the garlic starts to turn translucent. While the garlic is simmering, cut the baguette down the middle and flatten it open, as if you're butterflying a chicken.
  3. Evenly spread the butter along the bread, and when the garlic is done sautéing, evenly pour the garlic and oil across the bread. Spread out any clumps of garlic with a spoon (that will be one pungent mouthful if you don't). Sprinkle the cheese evenly on top, and sprinkle the parsley on top of that. Place in the oven and bake for 7-10 minutes, or until the edges start to toast and the cheese starts to crisp. Cut into slices and serve.
