Foursquare Tips

  • Small place, slow service and mediocre food.
  • Love the bar snacks, like sour sausage offered w/ basil, mint, peanuts, and pickled veggies.
  • Get the Papaya Salad, you won't regret it.
  • Challenging the culinary hegemony of Sripraphai, Chao Thai offers dishes from several regions.
  • Get Soft shell crab mango salad. But be very careful about hotness level. They will say it is not hot at all but even the medium managed to blow me up. Just go with mild.
  • Fried fish soup is the best. Ask for three star thai spicy level!
  • Service is very slow here but food is authentic
  • the spicy here is HOT! I always get mild (still has a kick, don't worry)
  • Excellent, authentic Thai. spicy means SPICY, don't be a hero, go medium.
  • Chicken with ginger and scallion
  • Delicious ..northern thai style and big dish. great choice
  • Morning glory salad
  • no nonsense, one of the best in the city! The papaya salad is a must.
  • Green curry and pad see ew! Yum
  • Agreed this is best Thai in NYC. 2 must tries: pad kee mao & papaya salad. Taro rolls were so so and the lemongrass soup was too salty.
  • Another great thai place. Not a fancy one, but they cook well and affordable. Be aware, their spicyness is really hot
  • Solid Thai food, but I'd consider other options since they're in abundance in the area like Sri Pra Phai.
  • Get the sausage "salad"(?) for sure
  • Thai food on point ! Get the Thai ice tea
