Celebrity Cruises Gearing Up For The 50 Yard Lounge

Celebrity Cruises is constantly on the hunt for ways to stand out from the pack, and their food and drink program does just that. Guests will have the opportunity to sample some of the line's standout food and drink during the 50 Yard Lounge, which will be running from January 29 to February 2. The event will bring together top-tier chefs as well as football players, and will be held at One Penn Plaza, near Madison Square Garden. Tickets can be purchased here.

"The 50 Yard Lounge is an exciting opportunity to present a taste of the Celebrity dining philosophy to a varied audience of guests who may be fans of cruising or have never cruised before but who like to enjoy and talk about beautifully presented and tasty food" Celebrity's head of food and beverage programs chef John Suley told us. "Our team will showcase a preview of the high quality and creativity Celebrity's award-winning culinary program has to offer."

They'll be serving food from the 29th through the 1st; cocktails will be available from the 30th through the 2nd. Here's the food that will be on offer:

Jan. 29: "Late Snacks" – Kobe beef hot dog, poppyseed bun, togarashi, Kewpie mayonnaise, nori flakes
Jan. 30: "Soup-er Bowler" – beer and Cheddar cheese soup, smoked bacon, jalapeño, pumpernickel croutons
Jan. 31: 1 pm Demo - spicy shrimp roll, miso, sambal, masago
Feb. 1: "American Classics with a Spin"- smoked sausage chili with caramelized onion, leek, and aged Cheddar panini

Celebrity launched a craft cocktail program last year, and several of their cocktails, developed in partnership with the Hawthorne Group, will be on offer. 'The Liquid Chef' behind the line's Molecular Bar, Junior Merino, will also be on hand to showcase his creations. Here are the cocktails they'll be offering: 

Jan. 30: Peychaud's Palomas on tap
Jan. 31: Captain Ron Punch
Feb. 1: Ginger Mojito (Bacardi 8, ginger, Mint Dainzu Gomme, sugar cane, Junior Merino passion ginger foam); Hawaiian Lava (fig-infused Jim Beam Black, Dainzu Gomme, grilled grapefruit, vanilla, Junior Merino Hawaiian saffron rimmer)
Feb 2 (Ultimate Tailgate): Mr. B (Jim Beam Black, black pepper, grilled pineapple, grilled grapefruit, Dainzu Agave Junior Merino Gin Intensive, Junior Merino guava chipotle foam); El Angel (3 Generaciones Tequila Blanco, Dainzu Gomme, hibiscus, Junior Merino Aleppo lime rimmer)
