Enjoy the drama and excitement of Zuzu's Wood Fired Paella being cooked over the aromatic open fire of oak and grapevines. Certified Organic and dry-farmed Estate Vineyards: Organic vineyard management practices, dry-farming, cane-pruning, hand-harvesting only at complete ripeness, fermentation with naturally occurring native yeast, and no fining or filtering result in flavorful wines expressive of our terroir on the border of the Sonoma Coast and Carneros Appellations. Our commitment to elegant and flavorful wine is also evident by our low yields per acre.
A Family Dream Comes Alive: From Switzerland, August Siegrist developed a passion for wine while working a hillside vineyard. In 1920 he immigrated and brought his dream to America. However, with the onset of Prohibition, his dreams were crushed and he was forced to refocus his goals and became an award-winning baker. Then in 1946 he opened Helmuth's restaurant on Ellis Street in San Francisco's Union Square with his brother in law. In 1971, with the effort to continue August's dream, his son in law, Bill Canihan Sr. purchased a farm in Sonoma. In 1998, the first vines were planted and in 2006, August's grandson, Bill Canihan Jr., started the Canihan Family Winery. Since its first release Canihan wines have been continuously winning awards for their excellence in wine making, bringing the dream of Swiss wine making to life through three generations.
