Tips

  • go to this restaurant. eat anything on the menu. try not to start laughing at how good it is.
  • Order the piccata. Take a bite. Close your eyes. See the white light? Move toward it.
  • An upscale restaurant for the meat-averse and the environmentally-conscious.
  • Good for special occasions and dates, this vegan restaurant is good enough to make even the grizzliest of carnivores rethink their eating habits. Definitely try the Seitan Piccata.
  • Try the Seitan Piccata!
  • Fantastic vegan food although not cheap. The service is very friendly.
  • Basically this is a 28 rated Zagat restaurant but vegan. Go with the specials, or the seitan picatta
  • Try the Vegan Cannoli And Chocolate Chip Ice Cream
  • If you have never tried vegan food or are a fan of vegan food then this is a must on your places to eat -my favorite is the seitan piccata.
  • Go to Candle 79 and order the vegan nachos!
  • I love satan piccata
  • Absolutely amazing vegan fare. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu.
  • Nothing beats their tasting menu, which has included vegan nachos, house-made ravioli, Asian dumplings, Seitan Chimichurri, Seitan Piccata, grilled potato cakes, and, the grande finale, vegan cannoli.
  • Not a vegan here and actually enjoyed it! Good place where vegans and non vegans can find some common ground...in the well crafted and often overlooked cocktails (3 of 4 petals via Fondu)
  • Where else can you find gluten-free stuffed avocados? You can't go wrong with anything that has their homemade Seitan either. And if you're new to the vegan world, their staff is incredibly helpful
  • When Gourmet Live sat down with Alicia Silverstone, she raved about the vegan menu at Candle 79. Order the Seitan Picata & this peanut butter chocolate crazy mousse thing at the end. It is so good.
  • Probably the best upscale vegan restaurant I've been to. Try the BBQ burger with polenta fries or the Spaghetti and wheatballs.
  • Beyond amazing vegan food that is luxurious and decadent while guilt free. Your meat eating friends will be impressed by their inventive and gourmet options
  • #QueenVV had her 25th Birthday here, and her whole non-veg family loved it! (Toughest critics around!)
  • An elegant and intimate Upper West Side restaurant with an extensive gluten-free menu including appetizers, entrees and desserts! We love the cannoli and chocolate chip ice cream!
