Tips

  • $1 oysters!
  • Sit at the bar, order a Velvet Jacket to drink and some house-made beef jerky to nosh on.
  • This Berkeley restaurant is known for its meat market in the back of the restaurant, and such offerings as duck sausage, spit roasted chicken and grilled lamb, but oysters are also a specialty.
  • The oyster shooters are great !
  • Roasted beef marrow. Drool.
  • Get the Red Anjou Pear pancakes on a Sunday morning.
  • The steelhead salmon is juicy and perfect for 2.
  • their meat counter is probably the best in the easty bay
  • Salad options are delicious. Shredded broccoli with chicken salad is light yet filling.
  • Oysters & brunch!
  • Seriously: get the hot dog from the kids menu!! It's huge, house made, comes with house made sauerkraut, and is probably the best dog of all time.
  • Avoid having coffee here. They serve it in filthy cups!!
  • They always offer one $1.25 oyster daily!
  • Outstanding fresh burrata with baby pecans, mission figs, and a drizzle of evoo!
  • Cafe rouge burger is delicious!!
  • E steak frite will blow your mind!
  • I agree with Jeff: best meat counter, not just East Bay; more like the three north counties! Not in agreement at all with Juan!
  • Rest here.
  • Try the roasted beets, creamed leeks and Laura Chenels goat cheese crisp
  • Do not order the Steak Frites. You will regret it if you do. Worst beef in the area.
