North Portland’s Bridgetown Beerhouse celebrates its 6th Anniversary this Saturday with an incredible beer list. Bridgetown–along with founders Michael and Mychal–has been a stalwart of North Portland becoming a haven for beer geeks and bottle collectors since before the neighborhood began to get crowded. Gather at Bridgetown Beerhouse right around the corner of N. Mississippi on Shaver this Saturday, January 17th, all day from noon to 11pm and toast these guys properly. Now, behold the beer list and special Hair of the Dog Magnum Doggie Claws toast!
Big & DARK & BOURBON BARREL AGED
MIDNIGHT SUN – BERSERKER (Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout) – $4/8oz
Vicious and viscous, this menacing brew pours opaque black with a creamy maduro-colored head. Its aroma offers seductive whiskey, chewy red wine, dark fruit and lavish tobacco. Berserker Imperial Stout invades your taste buds with in-your-face flavor. Weighing in at almost 13% alcohol by volume, Berserker is completely out-of-control. Give it a good fight. This version of Berserker Imperial Stout was aged in oak bourbon barrels. The entire batch was transferred from oak into a stainless tank before being filtered, carbonated and packaged in kegs IBU: 30, ABV: 12.7%
GOOSE ISLAND – BOURBON COUNTY (Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout) – $6/8oz
Brewed in honor of the 1000th batch at our original Clybourn brewpub. A liquid as dark and dense as a black hole with thick foam the color of a bourbon barrel. The nose is an intense mix of charred oak, chocolate, vanilla, caramel and smoke. One sip has more flavor than your average case of Budweiser. IBU: 60, ABV 14.2%
BALLAST POINT– BARREL AGED VICTORY AT SEA – (Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Porter) – $5/12
This Imperial Porter is a bold, smooth brew with just the right amount of sweetness. They infused this robust porter with whole vanilla beans and San Diego’s own Caffe Calabria coffee beans, and aged in Bourbon Barrels. ABV: 12.2%

BLOCK 15 – HOPPY NEW YEAR (Imperial IPA) – $4/12oz
Imperial IPA brewed to celebrate the New Year! Floor malted Maris Otter, Pale, and Vienna malts prop up large kettle additions of Apollo, Cascade, Falconer’s Flight and Citra hops. Aromatically dry hopped with Citra & Mosaic with ample hop flavor and aroma and a balanced bitter finish. IBU: 90, ABV: 8.3%
RUSSIAN RIVER BREWING – PLINY THE ELDER (Imperial IPA) – $6/16oz
Pliny the Elder was a Roman naturalist, scholar, historian, traveler, officer, and writer…..Bla Bla Bla…Delicious. IBU:100 ABV: 8%
BREAKSIDE BREWERY– BREAKSIDE IPA – $5/20oz
Breakside’s take on the classic India Pale ale style – the favorite craft beer of the Northwest. This amber colored brew is loaded with four different types of hops during the brew day and then gets dry hopped. Their IPA has a huge citrus and pine character with a strong, but refined bitterness. 2014 GABF IPA category GOLD Winner. IBU:70, ABV: 6.8%

BEAR REPUBLIC – TARTARE – (Berliner Weisse) – $5/8oz
One of the world’s classic sour beer styles, Tartare is Bear Republic’s interpretation of Berliner Weisse, the tart, low-alcohol beer style dubbed as ‘The Champagne of the North.’ ABV: 4%
DE GARDE – IMPERIAL APRICOT BU – (Berliner Weisse) – $4/12oz
This spontaneously fermented imperial version of Apricot Bu has a nose of heavy apricots, tart, tropical fruit while the flavor is sour, puckering, highlighted by apricots and layers of other tropical fruit. The finish is clean, fresh fruit, and very tart. ABV: 5.5%
BLOCK 15 – BREWER’S BRUNCH BLEND ’14 (American Wild Ale) – $4/12oz
Block 15 created a great blend from the brewery for their cellar stash release. This years is a blend of 30% Honeybell wild and sour tangelo farmhouse ale, 30% 2013 spontaneously fermented Turbulent Consequence, and 40% Tripel matured in French Cognac barrels with fresh pressed grapefruit juice. ABV: 8.25%

CRUX FERMENTATION PROJECT – TOUGH LOVE (Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout) – $5/8oz
Tough Love is bold but nuanced, an homage of sorts to the traditional Russian Imperial Stouts and the ruling style of Catherine the Great. We Construct it with dark, roasted malts, malted rye, and oak-smoked wheat, and then banished it for nine months in Kentucky Bourbon Barrels. The aging smooths out the edges on an otherwise bold statement, and bitterness succumbs to tender strokes of vanilla beans, hints of dried cherries, and new layers revealing themselves with each sip. ABV: 11.5%
LAURELWOOD – SANTA’S WOODY – (Bourbon Barrel Aged Barleywine) – $4/12oz
Bourbon Barrel Aged American Barley Wine. ‘Nuff said. ABV 9.2%
BARLEY BROWN’S – PALLET JACK IPA – $5/20oz
The awesome blend of Columbus, citra, Amarillo and simcoe hops bombard this IPA with flavors of citrus, tropical fruit, and a little bit of pine. The light malt flavor comes from 2-row barley and a touch of crystal malt. 2013 GABF IPA category GOLD Winner. 2013 National IPA Champion. IBU: 70, ABV: 7%

A Barley Wine made in the West Coast style. Big malt and hops make this copper colored ale one of our most popular products. Produced in September and October and released in November, this Beer will improve for years to come. This particular dusty bottle was cellared in a cool, dark crawl space. Not sure why that last sentence was needed, or this one. IBU 70, ABV: 11.5%

This phrase is an old shipping term. It was used to find out who was or was supposed to be on guard, doing duties, etc. This term later moved into the realm of baseball and is still used to this day as a description of who’s going to be batting next. The phrase evolved to new heights for the 6th Anniversary of the prestigious (not to be confused with pretentious) Bridgetown Beerhouse as identifying what beers would be coming on next.
