After a long and tough winter, it appears that the time to enjoy outdoor lunches and snacks has returned. In many people's minds this means one thing above all: Food trucks! With the weather looking a bit more consistent (dare we say it!?), let’s find out what’s new in this community of meals on wheels.
Many see the whole point of having a food truck as the first step towards opening a brick and mortar restaurant, and this year a few of our friends have done just that. In addition to their two new trucks, Bon Me has opened its first brick and mortar location at 1 Kendall Square. Mei Mei is eyeing a spot in Allston and Roxy’s Grilled Cheese is going through the preparations for their own space as well, stay tuned.
Luckily, any bad news comes with a silver lining. Staff Meal sold their much loved truck, but word on the street is that the guys are taking steps towards a brick and mortar of their own instead (think Asian fusion, possibly in the Fenway area).
