  • When the Blue Ridge Mountains fill your 8,000 acre backyard, you better believe there is fun to be had. After you're done horseback riding or rafting, explore Biltmore's winery and restaurants.
  • Take the audio tour. Well worth the $10 to guide you through the house and explain the different rooms. Perfect place to take a break is before you go to the basement. Need to return to audio by 4:30.
  • Designed by Richard Morris Hunt and built between 1889 and 1895, Biltmore features formal and informal gardens designed by famous American landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted.

  • Wear comfortable shoes. Use the bathroom BEFORE you start the tour. Note to guys: You should eat something to take the edge off your appetite. And don't complain. This stuff makes her happy.

  • Consider getting an annual membership if you plan to go more than once a year. It's cheaper than paying the entrance fee twice and gives you discounts at area locations.
  • The Architects Tour is fab.
  • After spending a beautiful day at the Biltmore and the winery ... we upgraded for the annual pass ... it is a great deal! great fun, too.
  • Order tickets through AAA a week in advance to get a 25% discount on admission.
  • Make sure you look up... Most people don't look up when they explore and will miss some of the most ornate parts of the home.
  • Don't miss the wine tasting.
  • The $10 Audio tour is well worth the price. It's really well done and very interesting.
  • Upgrading to a 12 month pass is a great deal.
