Tips

  • An authentic outdoor German beer garden, serving 6 Germanic beers on tap by the liter and half-liter. Food'll include two bigger-than-at-Suppenkuche pretzel offerings.
  • Both the men's and women's rooms have urinals. Just sayin'.
  • Located in the trendy Hayes Valley neighborhood, this raucous outdoor spot serves up enormous pretzels, bratwurst and other traditional German foods that can't be beat.
  • Zeitgeist for families. Children everywhere.
  • Order the Radler. It's a refreshing blend of beer & lemon soda. Pickled deviled eggs are as exciting as they look.
  • They've got blankets to borrow on cold nights.
  • Get the liter and the meat knot bro
  • surprisingly nice bathrooms for an outdoor space. pro tip for the men: there's a urinal in the women's.
  • Affectionately known as the Hipster Concentration Camp- great German beer and solid German food make it a must see
  • They give you blankets!
  • A small handful of authentic and delicious German beers are served in ginormous steins, and the bratwurst is the best you'll find outside of Bavaria.
  • Get all the beer you think you party may have. Once you go through the line and sit down, they make you go outside and start over if you want anything else.
  • Go for it, get a full liter of beer, you deserve it.
  • Instagram your giant beer mugs.
  • Enjoy the beer, the bratwurst, the pretzel & stargaze while wrapped in a toasty blanket.
  • Avoid standing in line twice and start with a liter :)
  • Sitting outside, all the beers, the pretzel, the mushrooms mini-burgers
  • Wednesday is the one day a week they serve burgers. The toppings change weekly (this one has crispy shallots, sweet peppers, and smoked blue cheese), but it is always made with Prather Ranch beef.
  • Pretzel everything!!! Get the bratwurst in a pretzel bun and the standalone pretzel and you'll be pretzeled-out.
  • A fenced-in outdoor bar in the middle of Hayes Valley, Biergarten is a fave with beer & brat loving locals. They have pork pretzels to go with your big-ass mug of beer.
