The combination of flavorful lamb meat, tzatziki sauce, lettuce, tomatoes, pepperoncini, and maybe a few olives if you’re in the mood, cannot be beat. Wrapped in a pita, it’s the ultimate cheers to Greece. Next time you’re craving the sandwich, though, skip the pita and try tossing those combinations with fries, instead. Tzatziki Sauce
Most people associate cucumbers with fresh salads, vinaigrettes, and dill dip, but I like to pair it with something savory in the form of tzatziki sauce. Traditionally served as a Greek condiment with lamb, tzatiki sauce is a great pairing for whatever protein is on your plate and is the perfect summertime sauce because it's refreshing and light. Tzatziki Sauce
This is a delicious sauce that can be used in many Greek recipes. We like to use it when making gyros or other Mediterranean recipes that are wrapped in pitas. It tastes just like the sauce we've had in restaurants such as Hell's in Tarpon Springs in Florida. It's a funny name, but the restaurant is known for having some of the best Greek food and Greek pastries in Florida.-TasteTesterThis recipe is courtesy of TasteTester and Food.com
