The Dude
Mixologist Xavier Herit has written the book on cocktails. (He was the force behind the Daniel Boulud cocktail book.) He's found a new home at New York City's NoMa Hotel in SoHo and revamped their entire bar program. The Dude in the cult classic spawned an entire generation who now orders a White Russian without irony. Herit riffed on the classic cocktail with a splash of cold brew coffee. Perfect when you've woken up on the floor and discovered your rug has been stolen.

Haute Chocolate
On a mountaintop in Vail is one of the best hot cocoas I've ever had. The cocoa at Remedy at the Four Seasons is prepared using two types of Swiss chocolate, some marshmallow, and a splash of Chantilly cream. The presentation itself is a work of art. A mug gilded with a lattice of chocolate is placed before you along with a house-made marshmallow. The liquid is then poured slowly on top, dissolving all of the heavenly ingredients into a creamy, smooth, and decadent cup of the best hot chocolate you will likely have anywhere.

No one knows indulgences like Finale. This Boston-based desserterie and bakery embraces the full experience of hot chocolate by experimenting with the best, classic flavors to bring customers the ultimate tastes of hot chocolate. Whether you try their hazelnut, white, or dark hot chocolate, you’ll instantly love their interpretations of age-old hot chocolate recipes. But our favorite? Their saucy Chocolate Lush, which makes hot chocolate seem a bit more grown-up. Combining milk, hot chocolate, Baileys, butterscotch schnapps, and Valrhona chocolate, this drink gives cocoa unexpected maturity. With this beverage, hot chocolate is no longer restricted to a quiet night in.

Peanut Butter and Strawberry Jam Ice Cream
The very smooth texture that the peanut butter brings to this ice cream is something to fall in love with... And I must say that the combination of peanut butter and strawberry jam (especially a homemade one) is truly wonderful. See all ice cream recipes.

Beverage director Rushton Smitherman, of Greenville, S.C.'s Coal Fired Bistro, came up with the drink based entirely on his mother's pumpkin pie. His goal was to turn her holiday dessert into a liquid form that would serve both as a similar taste profile and as a touch of nostalgia.

We know: you want to be like The Dude. Minus the marmots, but with the super slick bowling ability and the laissez-faire attitude that miraculously attracts the likes of Julianne Moore. We know you have a rug that ties the room together. We know what you want a cocktail — and not just any cocktail — you want the White Russian, to be precise.
