Community share or community supported agriculture emphasizes the value in supporting local food production. The mission of these groups is to produce and distribute local products that are healthy and fresh. The new year is a great opportunity to try out a different manner of dining and to develop healthier habits. Through purchasing a membership in one of these shares, the consumers receive regular deliveries of fresh products, and the farmers receive much-needed payments throughout the season instead of solely at harvest time.
