The Italian-style architecture and cozy fireplaces (for the winter) and sun decks (for the summer) make for a retreat you won’t want to end. The staff is friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the surrounding area. They are quick to answer requests and able to make good recommendations about restaurants and entertainment in the area. The kitchen is open to everyone and breakfast is available every morning.
Bridgeport Bed and Breakfast

If you want to stay more out of the way of the touristy areas but close enough to get to downtown if you really wanted to, try the Bridgeport Bed and Breakfast. Gated parking is available in the lot and complimentary breakfast is available every morning before 10 a.m. Shuttle service to train lines and McCormick Place is also offered. The staff is friendly and will tell you about the history of the area and the house (originally build in 1914). The location is great for fans who want to attend a Sox game.
Villa Toscana Guest House

A Victorian-style house close to the lake, all guests have access to the private backyard to visit or have breakfast. An assortment of breakfast items is provided for guests every morning. Some rooms have a shared bathroom, check the descriptions online, but all bathrooms are clean and tidy. Located right off of Halsted Street, this is the place to be if you enjoy exploring nightlife and then walking right back to bed.

Looking for some peace and quiet close to the city sites? Try the Monastery of the Holy Cross. Be welcomed by the monks to cozy rooms right inside their monastery in Bridgeport. Depending on the room you stay in, breakfast is either self served and available in the stocked fridge whenever you like it, or served fresh by the monks themselves every morning. Public transportation is nearby with quick access to museums and shopping.
