Tips

  • The beer selection is now well noted. But we're also fans of the tiny beer yard - get the right seat, and the right beer, and you're sitting in a classic northern pub...in Kentish Town.
  • Remember to take cash, this is a no card pub. It's perfect if you're skint, and ideal for getting a date trashed, as those ciders are not for the faint hearted
  • You know you're on to a winner from the ALE CIDER MEAT sign. They sell Seabrook's Crisps and there's a panther in the beer garden.
  • Absolutely top-notch perfect. Something like ten real ales on tap, all locally sourced. Old-school record player, outdoor toilets and an ancient chap playing the piano (very well). Highly recommended.
  • Probably the pub that best personifies the DiS spirit. Brilliant selection of independently brewed ales. Great music too. Ask folks under 30 if they work at Warp records, as most of them drink here.
  • My favourite pub in London, feels like it's been transplanted from somewhere in Yorkshire. Wood, meat, real fire, cheap. Cash only, super friendly staff, great beers and cider, proper bar snacks.
  • For those that stumble across it, theyll quickly realise that this place likes to keep things simple, for outside an old painted sign that reads Ale, Cider, Meat pretty straight forward, no?
  • Get the pickled eggs and strawberry cider. Proper Westcountry joy.
  • Nice atmospheric place to go to for Roast Pork Bap after a walk on Hampstead Heath. Recently refurbished
  • Pork bap. Pork bap. Pork bap. Pork bap. That's all you need to know.
  • Get yourself a roast pork bap. Mindblowingly good. Great selection of ales and ciders although it's cash only!
  • Gospel Oak Overground is only 5min walk. From outside the pub turn left then take the 2nd left. It's under 2nd bridge!
  • Handles on pint glasses. And because the bus stop is right outside... No need to leave until absolutely necessary!
  • Brilliant real ale/hipster pub. The pork pies are great!
  • Try the scotch eggs. Just ask for extra mustard...
  • Excellent independent beers and ciders. Like walking back in time 30 years.
  • Lovely roast pork baps 'n coider. Mmmm!
  • The taps are always changing and they also work with a lot of London microbreweries, so the beer is amazing http://barchick.com/find-a-bar/london/the-southampton-arms
  • Eat the roast pork bap. Amazingly tasty
  • The Rum Porter is delicious but it's going fast!
