Tips

  • From the folks behind The Passenger and Room 11, Petworth Citizen and Reading Room is the kind of classic-drink-slinging bar your ancestors would've drank at. PLUS they've got S'mores Waffles!!!
  • Bypass the dining room and follow the smell of old paper to the back, where youll find a nook dubbed the Reading Room. Hundreds of titles line the shelves and a reading lamp encourages you to linger.
  • Incredible hand crafted cocktails by very experienced and knowledgable bartenders! Very cool copper bar. A Petworth neighborhood treasure!
  • Great cocktails and atmosphere. Loved the comfort food too. Highly recommend this new spot.
  • Sit at the Bar, Andy is one of DCs finest bartenders, tip him well!
  • Old school flavor, specialty cocktails, surprisingly good food (corned beef brisket was excellent), and fantastic service. They can even split individual items across multiple checks! Great new spot.
  • Great for cocktails and snacks with friends. Cozy and not too loud, so fantastic for having actual conversations
  • Such a great atmosphere. Staff is attentive and friendly. New favorite bar.
  • Had dinner, pretty good food! Try it out.
  • Ask the bartender if you can sit in the Reading Room. Even if its not open theyll let you bring your drink in there!
  • Solid cocktails. Pretty good dumplings. Great space
  • The fried cauliflower and brussel sprouts are amazing! Grilled cheese is ok but you can skip the tomato soup they should change it to mushroom or something. Great local bar!
  • The tender and juicy Pulled Pork sandwich here is among the best you'll find in this city!
  • Good place for a date. Cool environment, good music playing, and drinks were good and different.
  • Cheeseburger is delicious.
  • Old School Neighborhood Bar with simple delights and fresh local brew
  • great drinks and super chill
  • If you like maple syrup than don't miss the Wisconsin old fashioned
  • This bar is great- great cocktails, beers on tap, and great happy hour prices
  • Chorizo burger is spiiiiiiicyyyy!!!! The guac cooled it off a little bit, but wooo, that was hot for me! (Maybe I should have expected that, but I'm not familiar with chorizo!)
