  • The best night markets are the ones further away from the city. Shihlin is overrated.
  • Steamed Pork Dumplings. These were exceptionally good. The skin was a little thicker than the ones found in South East Asia but the pork filling was heavenly. This goes with a dash of vinegar. Superb!
  • Seafood Soup in a sour broth. I would just call this a Taiwanese version of Tom Yum Soup with half the success. Not worth trying if you are used to the Thai version.
  • Tea Eggs and Tofu were very good. One of the best preparations that I have tasted. Authentically prepared for the best taste. Highly recommended!!!
  • Szechuan Soup with black fungus, mushrooms and tofu. Mildly spicy and slightly sour. Its nothing much but a huge bowl or starchy soup with some of those ingredients mentioned. Tasty but not the best.
  • Steamed Pork Dumplings in clear soup was good. I got this from one of the middle stalls. The dumpling itself was so good and the soup was decent. Surely recommend it for the dumpling.
  • This looks like the Malaysian Rojak with the very same ingredients but it was nothing much taste wise. Mildly spicy and generally bland, it was just plain crunchy all the way. I didn't quite enjoy it.
  • Another version of the stinky tofu that comes with taiwanese sausage. Another excellent one not to be missed. Extremely delicious!!!
  • The iconic Stinky Tofu. Please do not miss this. Though it stinks, it was delicious!!!
  • Shaved Ice with mixed fruits and beans with syrup at the base. One not to be missed here. Again from the same shop selling juices. 2nd on your left if you walk in from the temple side.
  • Do check out the second stall grom the temple side. The Taiwanese Mango is a must try. These guys have been in business since the 1920s and their juices are amazingly good.
  • A great place to get authentic and exotic food. Starts from around afternoon and goes on till midnight. Must visit place for foodies.
  • Traditionally was a snake goods markets. There are still some giant live snakes, but it's mostly massages and food now!
  • Snake soup. Seafood. Japanese Restaurants. massage and that's about it. Had the pork soup at the entrance of the night market during cold weather and it's awesome.
  • This night market is covered, perfect for rainy days. Not the best night market, so combine it with Guangzhou Night Market and Longshan Temple. Halfway is a restaurant with giant snakes.
  • Not many snake shops anymore but the neighboring Wan Hua night market is cool to check out
  • It is actually quite confusing whether Huaxi night market is the same as Bangka night market, but anyway I like it here more than Shilin and Raohe.
