Foursquare Tips

  • Colin and Carl are the best bartenders in the city.
  • Great bartenders, great drinks!
  • Must get the pretzel with your beer. Must.
  • If you're having sinus congestion have the pretzel with plenty of spicy mustard. Otherwise I recommend the burger and warm ceasar!!
  • Colin is a hero amongst commoners. The only thing better than his jokes are his cocktails. On an unrelated note, there is some killer mustard served with those pretzels. Mind your sinuses.
  • Stop by for brunch. Limited menu, but filling. Excellent Bloody Mary, with a beer back.
  • Get the bacon beer-soaked almonds
  • The Glunz Tavern in Old Town added 24 sidewalk seats, from which to sample the restaurant's Euro food and drinks.
  • The Sicilian red is delish!!
  • Warm Huge Pretzel with beer mustard and beer cheese sauce
  • Solid German pub (and oldest in Chicago)
  • The old fashioned is really well done. Also Clash of the Titans is another good recommendation.
  • Historic pub/bar with a good wine & spirits shop. Very atmospheric.
  • Terrible service! Food was alright but overpriced but awful service! We had to flag down our waitress for everything. She never came to check on us & looked flustered the entire time. Do not go!
  • The service was unbelievably horrendous. The food was overpriced for how much food I got (the salmon burger). I wouldn't subject my worst enemy to a dinner here.
  • Terrific food and great beer and wine offerings.
  • Good drinking. Since 1880.
  • Go for the Dunkel on draft or the Maximator!
  • Great for stopping by for a nightcap after dinner; no TV, no blaring music
  • Relaxed ambiance, great staff, decent variety of wine as well as beer. The food is incredibly underrated.
