  • Allow PLENTY of time to tour the museum and the gardens and buildings in the rear; there's much more history in Atlanta than you ever imagined.
  • The Atlanta History Center includes a wing dedicated to the 1996 Centennial Olympic Games. You'll want to try the long jump yourself!

  • The scenes that took place at Bill Murray's Beverly Hills mansion in the movie 'Zombieland' were filmed at a home located 1 mile from here at 490 West Paces Ferry.
  • Inside the Civil War exhibit you will find the diary of Carrie Berry. Written when she was just 10 years old, it details her experiences during the Battle of Atlanta. She resides in Oakland Cemetery.
  • The extensive landscaped groundswhich include a rhododendron garden that's spectacular in early summerare wonderful for strolling.
  • Don't forget to check out the Gone with the Wind movie exhibit and a gift shop.
  • Check out the Bobby Jones exhibit where his 4 Grand Slam trophies from 1930 are displayed. He was an Atlanta native & the greatest amateur golfer of all time. He now resides in Oakland Cemetery.
  • Best museum in Atlanta! Very friendly staff. Beautiful grounds allow a wonderful walk. Lincoln exhibit is a must see! Olympics display is fantastic and interactive. Take the challenge!

  • Virgil was a great tour guide at the Swan House! He was filled with information about the history of the house, filming The Hunger Games, and kept us laughing!
