ASOS Debuts The Anna Sui & Minnie Mouse Beauty Collection Just In Time For The Holidays
The amount of beauty collaborations seem to increase over the years, but we can't say we're unhappy about it. In fact, those special collections and limited editions are likely the reason our makeup bags are so full. So a collaboration featuring designer Anna Sui, British fashion shop ASOS and Disney's Minnie Mouse is something we can't really pass up. And if you've ever tried any Anna Sui cosmetics you know they're adorable, collectable and so whimsical. Details from the girly packaging to scented nail polish (because wouldn't you rather your digits smell like roses then chemicals?), make her cosmetics line one of our favorites. The exclusive Minnie Mouse Collection doesn't fail to live up to Sui's kitschy standards either, and includes Minnie shaped bottles, big bow palettes and mouse shaped lipstick bullets.
Anna Sui and Minnie Mouse might not seem like an obvious combination, but Sui tells British Vogue the Disney mouse has long been one of her favorite icons. "Minnie Mouse is a rock star. I love Minnie. I've always collected figurines of her and I always wanted to do a collection inspired by the Duchess of Windsor and Minnie Mouse—it has always been in the back of my head," Sui explained. She maintains that the magical femininity of the iconic character and her own brand are on very equal wavelengths, and perfect to play off each other in the new beauty collection.
While we highly recommend grabbing the sets, there are some very clear winners in the collection that you'll want to nab before they sell out. "We probably have the best mascara in the world! I don't actually really wear mascara, but all my nieces wear it and...all of my friends, that's the product they love the most," Sui explains. "My favorite is the lipstick, which we've molded into [Minnie's] shape."
The collection includes lip balm, hand cream, rose balm, nail polish, mascara, eye shadow and lipstick. Available exclusively at Asos and priced from $27-$85.
