Arooga’s, with a little help from its friends – Wilsbach Distributors, Inc., Ace Distributing, and Kirchner’s – Completes October Initiative to Benefit Breast Cancer
Harrisburg, PA (RestaurantNews.com) Arooga’s has proved that cider, pink chips and boobies are a terrific threesome.
A year after raising $5456 for Feel Your Boobies Foundation in 2015, Arooga’s Grille House & Sports Bar increased its donation to $8849.20 in 2016 to the non-profit breast cancer organization, which promotes proactive breast health in young women.
The region’s favorite sports bar, in partnership with Wilsbach Distributors, Inc., Ace Distributing, and Kirchner’s, has raised $16,805 over the past three years for Feel Your Boobies. Arooga’s expanded its reach this year to its franchise locations in Warwick, RI and Uncasville, CT, who raised an additional $2762.43 to benefit their respective charities for the month.
In partnership with their local distributors, Arooga’s donated $1 from every Angry Orchard pint sold at all 10 of its Pennsylvania locations for the entire month of October. In addition, Arooga’s donated 10% from every sale of items that featured pink chips in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Arooga’s “Pink Chip” items included Buffalo Chicken Dip, Buffalo Chicken Nachos, Chips & Salsa, Beer Cheese Chili Nachos and Seafood Nachos.
“Arooga’s loves being a steward in the communities we serve and this relationship has truly prospered in the past three years. It’s a worthy cause and it’s great to see the donation increase every year,” said Gary Huether, Jr., co-founder and president of Arooga’s. “We loved collaborating with our distributing partners Ace Distributing, Kirchner’s, and Wilsbach Distributors, Inc. for the third straight year in support of the Feel Your Boobies Foundation, and we are grateful that our guests came out to support this great charity.”
“We are thrilled with our ongoing partnership with Arooga’s for the Angry Orchard promotion and enjoy seeing it become more successful each year,” said Leigh Hurst, founder and President of the Feel Your Boobies Foundation. “The donation will allow us to continue to grow our educational efforts that target college campuses with our message, which has saved lives.”
“Ace Distributing was proud to work with Arooga’s, Wilsbach, and Kirchner Beverage this year to raise the necessary funds together, as an industry, for such a great cause with the “Feel Your Boobies” program.” said Nate Fochtman, Vice President of Craft and Business Development with Ace Distributing. “We firmly belief that our local future is dependent on a strong surrounding community, which is always encouraging when an entire industry comes together locally for maximum impact.”
